William David Caster

His final wish was realized when he passed away peacefully at the place he was most comfortable and which was also the result of his life’s work, the Caster Ranch south of Mountainair. William was preceded in death by both his parents, Odes Brooks Caster and Mabel Edith Caster, as well as his siblings Wes Caster, Harold Caster, Barbara Dils and Bessie Chapel. He is survived by his wife Cassie Caster and his three sons aka “the 3 D’s” David Caster and wife Sheri, Darren Caster, Dean Caster and wife Leanne. He is also survived by younger sister Rowena Metzger, and his older sister Bertha McMath. William also is survived by his grandchildren Arina Caster, Savanna Morgan, Jasmine Luckey, Kristen Voight, Darric Caster, Seth Caster, Kyle Caster, Tyneal Caster and Ruth, Jennifer and Leanna Caster as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and all of their families who loved him dearly. William will also be missed by those who knew him from his tenure at Transwestern Pipeline Company where he worked for over 35 years. William loved animals, especially cattle. He started his herd of Angus Cattle with a bull named Chino and a cow named Sissy. The herd eventually grew to over 400 head. Apart from being a rancher, William was an avid sportsman who loved to camp, hunt and fish. Memorial Services will be held at the Gran Quivira Church near Gran Quivira NM, with viewing beginning at 9am and service beginning at 10am on Friday the 13th of January 2023, followed with a reception. Graveside service will be held at the Caster Ranch Pinon Cemetery at 2:00 .
