Wendy Louise Glenn (Mullen)

February 4, 1954 — July 4, 2023

Wendy Louise Glenn (Mullen) February 4, 1954 - July 3, 2023 Moriarty, New Mexico - It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Wendy Louise Glenn, a beloved retired teacher, aunt, friend, sister, daughter, mother, and grandmother. Wendy departed this world on July 4, 2023, leaving behind a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Born on February 4, 1954, in Nyack, New York, Wendy was the only daughter of Earl and Rose Ellen Mullen and sister to Jon and Terry Mullen. They lived in New City, New York where she grew up traveling the country and spending summers at many national parks with her family. Her passion for education led her to New Mexico. She graduated in 1977 from Eastern New Mexico University and pursued her dream of becoming a teacher. Armed with knowledge and a nurturing spirit, she embarked on a career that spanned several decades, leaving an unforgettable impact on countless young lives. Wendy loved the Moriarty community teaching 5th grade for over 27 years, where she had the privilege of enriching the lives of her students. Beyond the students she formed friendships with her colleagues and enjoyed spending time with them outside of the classroom, hosting 4th of July BBQs and get togethers. It was during her tenure at Moriarty Municipal Schools that fate intervened, and Wendy's path crossed with that of Buck Glenn. Together, they embarked on a journey of love, joy, and building a beautiful family on Caminito Street aka “Teacher’s Row”. As a mother, Wendy poured her heart and soul into raising her daughters, Kelly and Jackie. She nurtured them with unwavering love, instilling in them values of kindness, compassion, and resilience. Wendy's love for her daughters knew no bounds, and she found immense joy in watching them grow into strong, independent women. She enjoyed camping, gardening, family vacations to Port Aransas and had a true knack for interior design and crafting. Wendy loved celebrating holidays, especially spending Thanksgiving in Carlsbad and Christmas at the Katie G Ranch. She had a love for country western dancing, and always had her red radio on. Wendy adored her role as a grandmother to Austin and Kennedy Rivera, who were the lights of her life. She loved every moment spent with them. Her love will forever shape the lives of her grandchildren, who were truly blessed to have her as their “Grandma Wendy”. Beyond her role as a teacher, mother, and grandmother, Wendy was a friend to many. Her infectious laughter and her radiant smile brightened the lives of those around her. Wendy is preceded in death by her beloved father, Earl Mullen, and several friends who she adored. Though her departure leaves an immense void, her memory will forever be treasured by her mother Rose Ellen Mullen, brothers Jon (Sharon) Mullen, Terry (Barbara) Mullen, daughters, Kelly (Andy) Rivera and Jackie Glenn. Additionally, her spirit will live on in the hearts of her adoring grandchildren, Austin and Kennedy Rivera and many nieces and nephews. In honoring Wendy's life, she will forever be remembered for her love, dedication to education, and her unwavering support of family and friends. May her soul find eternal peace as her memory continues to bring joy and inspiration to those whose lives she touched. A private memorial service to celebrate Wendy's life will be held in Carlsbad New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to our National Parks in Wendy's honor.
