VITALINA Z. CHAVEZ Albuquerque, New Mexico June 22, 1936 - June 20, 2021 Vitalina Zamora Chavez, age 84, died on Sunday June 20, 2021 , in her home in Albuquerque, surrounded by her family. Vita was born on June 22, 1936 to Florencio and Ramoncita (Gonzales) Zamora in Tajique , NM. Vita lived in Estancia, NM for the Majority of her life, moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1993, thus making her home in Albuquerque for the past 28 years. She married the love of her life Johnny B. Chavez on June 17, 1967, at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM. Vita was preceded in death by her parents Florencio and Ramoncita Gonzalez Zamora; her Granddaughter Genise Anne Chavez and Son-in-law Eutimio (Tootsie) Chavez; Baby Grandson Brayden Chavez; sister’s Bertha Torrez and brother -in-law Jose Epifanio Torrez; Florinda and brother-in-law Robert Garcia; Mary Mora and brother-in-law Francisco Mora; Cruzita Zamora and brother-in-law Jose Zamora; Frances Barela and brother-in-law Emilio Barela; Melba Barela and brother in-law Estolano Barela; Eloisa Otero- Ulabari and brother -in -law Perfecto Otero; Brother’s Romolo Zamora and sister-in-law Vicky Zamora; Nestor Zamora and sister-in-law Jackie Zamora. Vita is survived by her loving husband Johnny B. Chavez of 54 Years, Daughter’s; Geneva Martinez and husband Mark Martinez, of Estancia NM, Francine Chavez of Albuquerque, NM Son’s; Florencio Zamora of Estancia, NM, Patrick Zamora and Wife Gwen Zamora of Chilili, NM, George Chavez and Wife Violet Chavez of Hobbs,NM, Andrew Chavez of Escobosa, NM. And numerous Grandchildren , Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Vita was a socially active woman, she enjoyed working and meeting people, making many friends throughout her life. She loved going to the casino, dancing and especially working . She held a job up until she was 82 years old. Her family and friends will always remember her as a strong and independent woman ! A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 25,2021, at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, New Mexico . The Rosary will be recited at 9:00AM with the celebration of Mass to follow at 10:00AM. A private burial will be held at a later date. A reception will follow at the Estancia First Assembly of God Church Fellowship Hall, on 514 Loring avenue and 5th St. , in Estancia ,New Mexico . All Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Vita’s life. Pallbearers are Florencio Zamora, George Chavez, Andrew Chavez , Mark Martinez, P.J. Zamora and Tomas Zamora. In lieu of Flowers the family would like donations made to The St. Jude Foundation. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, New Mexico.
