THERESA R. CHAVEZ August 25, 1927- February 11, 2025 Theresa R. Chavez, 97, of Rio Rancho, NM, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Theresa was born August 25,1927, in Albuquerque, NM to Policarpio and Bonifacia Romero (Moya) and raised in Albuquerque, NM. Theresa married John Chavez in 1950. Theresa was a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband John Chavez, and her son, Ralph Chavez. Theresa was the last surviving member of both her siblings and her husband’s siblings. 

Theresa is survived by her sons Salvador (Dorothy) of Albuquerque, NM, John Jr. (Helen) of Albuquerque, NM, Felix (Vicky) of Tyrone, NM, Patrick (Annette) of Belen, NM, Paul (Juanita) of Manzano, NM, her daughters Rita (Clifford) Ochoa of Albuquerque, NM, Antoinette (Lonnie) Foster of Rio Rancho, NM, as well as her daughter in law Dolores Chavez of Albuquerque, NM, Thirty-One grandchildren, over over forty great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren who will all cherish her memory.

Services will be held at Nuestra Señora de Dolores in Manzano, NM, Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Schedule of Services:• 9:00 AM - Viewing• 10:00 AM -The Divine Mercy Chaplet and Holy Rosary • 11:00 AM - Holy Mass• Following Holy Mass - Interment at Torreon Cemetery Pallbearers will be Vincent Chavez, Jesse Chavez, Michael Chavez, Patrick Chavez, Matthew Chavez and James T. Sanchez Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fidel Chavez Jr., Danny Montano, Sam Vigil, Randy Chavez, Nicholas Chavez, Leo Chavez + Special thanks to Clorissa and Joyce (hospice) for taking loving care of her, Chaplain Fabian, Eucharist Minister Gloria Cordova and Rev Scott Mansfield Pastor of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Thank you to all who provided prayer, comfort, and meals during this difficult time
