Steven Michael Eskuri

Steven Michael Eskuri came into this world on April 9, 1953 to Oscar and Marilyn Eskuri of Minneapolis, MN. He had an older brother, Robert. When Steven turned two a sister, Patricia, was added to their family. Steve was gifted with a bright intellect and sharp wit. He loved to joke and enjoyed a good laugh. During school he dabbled and worked in voice and DJ jobs, creating stories and filling dead air with banter and factoids. Steve graduated from Cretin Military School and earned a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Later he earned his private pilot's license and when not in the air he enjoyed sailing on Minnesota's mighty lakes. His interests covered air, land and sea. Steve enjoyed working with people and one of his jobs was installing and troubleshooting phone systems. At a utility company in Colorado where he set up a new system Steve met and later married his wife, Karon. They left Colorado after a few years and moved to California. Eventually work took them the other direction and Virginia became their new home. In Virginia they were blessed with a daughter, Wendy Irene. Steve's work varied but more and more he designed and built computer for tech and other firms including the US military. Many times, Steve would go out to these companies to teach the systems and troubleshoot glitches. He often received compliments on his ability to explain difficult concepts. Steve took these talents home and taught his daughter with patience and imagination, instilling in her a joy of awe and wonder of God's creation. They loved to vacation often going on short train excursions, inviting his parents to join them. Steam engines became a favorite. They loved theme parks and museums, with an occasional camping trip thrown in. In 2006, Steve retired from his engineering work and packed up his family and moved to Edgewood, NM, buying a place in the country. Steve enjoyed his life finding interests in new innovations and scientific breakthroughs. He cared deeply for Karon and Wendy, always planning for their welfare and encouraging their potential. Steven is survived by his wife, Karon, daughter Wendy, brother Robert, sister Patricia, 5 nephews and 2 nieces.
