Shirley "Vernae" May

Shirley “Vernae” May, 89, passed away on February 7, 2021 in Estancia, New Mexico. She was born on May 8, 1931 in Snowflake, AZ to the late William and Ruth (Despain) McCleve. Shirley is also preceded in death by her husband, Verol May and sisters, Geniva, Etta, Mardail and Ilene. She is survived by her son, Warren V. May and wife Amy; daughters, Sharon “LaNae” Austin and husband Norman, Cheryl “Annette” Austin and husband Clement and Jaci Crosswhite; brother, Roy D. McCleve; brother-in-law, David Henderson; and sisters in laws, Alama Wimisatt, Dorothy Smith and Sara Ray. Vernae was blessed with 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. A Graveside Funeral Service will take place at McIntosh Cemetery in McIntosh, NM. Pallbearers will be Kevin Austin, Brian Austin, Carl Austin, Warren May, Buddy Embick, Jesse Embick and Patrick Sanchez.
