Roxie Lajune Moreland

Roxie LaJune Moreland passed away on December 20, 2019 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on September 16, 1952 in Mountainair, New Mexico to M.J. Janway and Betty Lou (Neeley) Janway. She was raised in Belen, N.M. and graduated from Belen High School in 1970. She married Allen H. Moreland on April 8, 1972 in Albuquerque, NM. She is also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Dwayne Moreland father, M.J. Janway and her step-father Ben Kahalekuloo. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Allen H. Moreland of Mountainair, NM; mother, Betty Kahalekuloo of Aurora, CO, sister, Lori Overton and husband Mike of Aurora, CO; son, Curtis Moreland and wife Sophia of Albuquerque, NM daughter Gaeli Murphy and Ray Salizar of Moriarty, NM; 4 grandsons, Wesley Moreland and wife Shyan of Colorado Springs, CO, Dustin Moreland of Moriarty, NM, Jacob Moreland and Max Moreland both of Tijeras, NM; 4 grandaughters, Cheyanna Murphy of Albuquerque, LaJune Murphy of Rio Rancho, Sabrina Quintana of Albuquerque, MayLeene  Eldrige of Albuquerque, NM; two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Everette Moreland of Colorado Springs, CO. She is also survived by numerous “adopted” children and grandchildren who all called her “Mom” or “Grandma.” A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM. Richard Spencer will officiate. Interment will be at the Round Top Cemetery at a later date.
