The Brewer family is saddened to announce the passing of Rodney “Turkey” Brewer, a beloved member of our community. Turkey was born on March 28th, 1975. He unexpectedly left us too soon on April 12th, 2025. His warm humor, kindness, and authenticity are and will forever be deeply missed.
Turkey is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Brewer. He also left behind his cherished stepchildren, Emma, Hunter, and Winter. Also mourning his loss are his mother, Debra Brewer, and his brothers, Billy and Steven Brewer. Turkey was preceded in death by his father Leo Brewer.
Known for his love of southern food, Turkey’s favorites included chicken fried steak, beans, cornbread, and black-eyed peas. As an avid music lover, he enjoyed all types of music. He loved to play cards and expressed his creativity through wood working. Most importantly, he spent quality time with his wife and children. He relished in listening to music, playing the piano, dancing, and sharing laughter and kindness.
In celebrating Turkey’s life, we remember him as a man who was funny, kind, authentic, and caring. The best lessons he shared with us were to make everyone smile whenever we can and to fill our lives with laughter, kindness, and dance.
The legacy of kindness Turkey leaves behind and his unique ability to make others smile will be cherished. Anyone who has ever met him, never forgot him.
