She helped bring people together to improve the church and worked diligently to serve the community.  They were also part of the local steering committee for the Marriage Enrichment program and she was instrumental in bringing countless couples and volunteers to join the movement.  Patsy was a life-long teacher of God’s love and forgiveness and spread this message to many children and educators when she took the role as the director of the parish School of Religion.  Through her tireless dedication to this ministry she brought life and spirit to the program and touched many lives.  Patsy along with her sisters and mom were members of the Willard Altar Society where they took care of many of the church’s special events.  One of Patsy’s most recent endeavors was opening up her home and yard to El Campo de Familia.  She passed down her spirit of giving and serving when, with the help of her children and husband, she assisted to and served as many as 70 camp participants and volunteers each summer for 12 years.   “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all” (Pr. 31: 28-29).  Patsy “Nannie” loved to cook for her family and grandchildren and poured all of her life and love into them.  She loved to spend time with them and tried to make it to as many of their events and activities as possible.  She was passionate about gardening and loved to fill her yard with many colorful flowers.  In spite of her illness she continued to live her life to the fullest and did not let her sickness stop her from serving others.   She exemplified what it was to be a true Proverbs 31 woman, living a life that God intended as a wife and as a mother.  “She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.  When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness” (Pr. 31: 25-26).  She poured love and life into everyone she encountered. Patsy has been a quiet source of strength for her family and will be terribly missed.  Patsy was a humble servant and has gently laid down paving stones for us to follow her to heaven.
