Norma Sullenger, a homemaker, mother, cattle rancher, and lifelong resident of Torrance County, New Mexico died peacefully in her sleep at her homeon July 8, 2021 at the age of 77. Norma is survived by her children; Guy and Samantha Sullenger, Wyatt, Craig Sullenger and Abigail Adams; grandsons Bodan and Wrylan Sullenger; her sisters Venita Shaw, and Sharon Jackson; and truly beloved Gentleman Suitor, Stanley Poole, who filled her life with chivalry and romance in her final years. She was preceded in Death by her husband of 45 years, Bob Sullenger. Norma was born on June 6, 1944 to C.H. and Polly Fulfer in Albuquerque, NM. She graduated from Mountainair High School in 1961.She married Bob Sullenger on May 5, 1967, She gave birth to her first son, Craig Sullenger in 1970. It was 12 years before Bob and Norma got brave enough to try for another one. Her son, Guy Sullenger was born in 1982, and he was ok, so she had Wyatt in 1984. Two out of three ain't bad. Norma was a devoted wife and mother, cowboy, and dispatcher for the Sullenger Clan. She loved horses, cows, classic vehicles, mud trucks, her Jeep Maxine and NASCAR. (anybody caught rootin' for Jeff Gordon around her could expect a whoopin')Her home was where boys were raised, engineering was done, race cars built, plans hatched, and conspiracy's plotted. She was dearly loved by all the Sullengers and their friends because of how graciously she welcomed all manner of industry in her home. She was extremely wise, and blessed uncountable people with her wisdom. She will be sorely missed by her family, her friends and the dozens of boys whom she treated as her own.Her sons are grateful that she didn't buy them everything they wanted, but let them clean car parts in her kitchen sink. Her earthly remains will be placed beside those of her husband, and no services are planned. As always friends and family are free to come visit. In lieu of flowers, is is requested that donations be made to agricultural programs for children in your area.
