Norma Linda Ortiz, 73, received her wings and went to walk in heaven alongside the angels with our Lord and Savior in Albuquerque, NM on February 1, 2024. She was born on June 26, 1950 in Mountainair, NM to Ray and Thelma (Dunn) Harrison. Norma grew up in Encino, NM with her 12 brothers and sisters, and moved to Moriarty in 1968 after she married the love of her life, Modesto Ortiz. They have 2 children, Chris and Tim Ortiz. Norma had many professions in her life. She was a Magistrate Judge, Realtor, EMT, Librarian and worked for the Moriarty School District. She was recently a homemaker and loved to bake cakes. She had a passion for Bible study and crafting. Norma loved spending time with her family and had a huge heart filled with love for everyone she knew. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Thelma Harrison, brothers Kenny Harrison, Robert Harrison, Ronnie Harrison, and George Harrison. Sisters Margaret Veuthey and Deana Holocker. Brothers in law Joe Hunt, Roy Veuthey, Russell Clark and Steve Bounds. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Modesto Ortiz, sons, Chris Ortiz and Tim and wife Angela Ortiz. Grandchildren, Devin Ortiz, Katie and husband Conrad Truchly, Desiree Garcia (Joseph Gil) and Nick Garcia. Great grandchildren Sophia Gil and Dominic Gil. Brothers Mike and wife Kathy Harrison, Jerry and wife Beatrice Harrison, sisters Tana and husband Troy Ballard, Susie Clark, Pearl Ray Hunt and Barbara Bounds . Sisters in law Mary Harrison, Carolyn Harrison, and Billie Harrison. Brother in law John Holocker. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers: Tim Ortiz, Devin Ortiz, Chris Ortiz, Tino Ortiz, Bobby Ortiz, Tom Ortiz, Korey Anthony and Brad Harrison Honorary Pallbearers: Nick Garcia, Desiree Garcia, Joseph Gil, Katie Truchly and Conrad Truchly Services will be on Friday February 9, 2024 at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Viewing will be at 9:00 AM, Rosary at 10:00 AM and Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Followed by a luncheon at Mt. Carmel Catholic Center.
