Nastassia Dawn Chavez

September 27, 1983 — September 13, 2024

Estancia

Nastassia “Tasha” Dawn Chavez, age 40. A kind and loving mother, daughter, friend, and teacher of Estancia New Mexico, passed suddenly alongside her son on the afternoon of September 13th, 2024 after an accidental car collision. Nastassia was born on September 27th, 1983 in Monohan Texas. To parents Leslie Anne Head and Johnny Lovell Grubbs, later to be adopted into the Chavez family by her loving father Jerry R. Chavez. Nastassia attended school in Estancia, New Mexico, for most of her life and graduated from Estancia Municipal School in 2002. She then went to college for a short while to study phlebotomy. In 2002, Nastassia also gave birth to her first child, Emma La’Rae Perea. Even with a child, she was a hard worker, a strong woman, and a loving mother. Five years later Nastassia would go on to have her son Micah Zechariah Perea in the year 2007. She was extremely sick during both pregnancies but no matter what she would do anything for her two kids making sure they were happy and healthy along the way. Nastassia went through the years trying job after job to find the right fit for herself until one day in 2017, she got a job at Ultamera. That job made her realize her passion for working with children and helping them. She would later work at Estancia Municipal Schools around 2019 as a sub, later becoming a beloved aid and teacher. And she loved her job no matter how difficult times got. Nastassia’s favorite hobby was photography. Anything she saw, she would try to take a picture of the moment so the memory would be remembered forever. She also loved music of all kinds. Name a song, and she had more than likely heard of it though her favorite was rock. She even dabbled in art here and there and she was amazing at it. Tasha also loved to read. Nastassia was a bright and goofy soul, who always knew how to brighten up a room or make someone smile or laugh, her laugh was contagious. But she also would be an ear to listen to anyone's problems and a shoulder to cry on. She was kind, generous, loving, and beautiful. Tasha is now rocking on in heaven with her son Micah and her love Robert Gonzales. Nastassia is survived by her daughter Emma La’Rae Perea, her parents Jerry and Leslie Chavez, her family, her beloved friends, and the lovely Estancia community.
