Michael James Gurule, 55, was called to heaven to be with the Lord on November 2, 2021, at home in McIntosh, New Mexico. He was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and loyal friend. Michael was born on December 13, 1965 to Mario and Anita Gurule in Albuquerque, NM and raised in Southern California with his three siblings. As a child, Mike was the light of his family’s life and kept his family smiling. After graduating from John H. Francis Polytechnic High School, Michael studied at the Colorado School of Trades where he studied gunsmithing, a job that he would head to even after long shifts at construction sites. The firearms sales industry is truly where he found his calling and could put his talent of making friends and talking all day to good use. Michael was a prominent figure in the firearms industry and enjoyed his time traveling for work. He always said, “No matter where you go, make a friend,” and lived true to those words everywhere he went. While his passion for firearms, knives, and all things that go “boom” filled much of his time, Michael’s incomparable pride and love for his family was always his priority. His large and rambunctious family brought him immense joy and laughter through the years. Mike will be greatly missed by his wife, Elisa Gurule, and their eight children and spouses; daughter Suzette Gurule (Jeramiha) and granddaughter, Serenity Conrad, son William Gurule (Brittany), son Nicholas Gurule, daughter Cheyenne Gurule (Dillin), daughter Ivonne Sanders (James) and granddaughter Adelaide Sanders, son Parker Gurule (Irene), Charles Gurule (Aubrey), and Tiffany Gurule (Carlos). He is also survived by his parents, Mario and Anita Gurule, brother and sisters Mario Jr., Patricia, and Marcy, plus an abundance of extended family and friends. He will be missed more than words can say. A Rosary will be held for Michael on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 7:00p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 215 Girard Ave, in Moriarty, NM. A mass service will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Michael will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery following services with a celebration of life back at the church hall.
