Merced Pineda Michel

Merced Pineda-Michel (80 years old) of Moriarty was born on November 21, 1942, in Durango, Mexico. Merced passed away peacefully on the morning of April 9, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was a homemaker whose home cooking received great praise and was loved by all. Merced welcomed many into her home with a kind heart, often offering them a hot meal. Merced was known for hosting family get togethers, enjoying laughs and watching boxing. Merced was a kind, generous and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by brother, Manuel Pineda and sister Maria Cano, her nine children, twenty-seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Her children include Alejandro Michel and his wife Angelica Michel their children Alejandro Michel Jr., Ana Squire, and Judy Michel, Enrique Michel and his children Albert Lopez, Andrew Michel and Stephanie Michel, Dora Carreón and her husband Gabriel Carreón their children Adrian Carreón, Jessica Carreón, Gabriel Carreón Jr. Erika Carreón, and Elizabeth Carreón, Carmen Michel and her husband Aurelio Rivera and their children Julie Rivera and Marcos Rivera, Gustavo Michel and his wife Roberta Michel and their children Mariah Michel and Derek Michel, Gabriel Michel and his daughters Vanessa Michel and Deborah Michel, Benigno Michel and his sons Joshua Michel and Jason Michel, Gerardo Michel and Trisha Michel their children Allen Michel and Alicia Michel, and Sonia Baca and her children Cruz Steven Michel, Cecilia Rogers, Jacob Carpio, and Octavian Baca. She is proceeded in death by her husband Felipe Michel and her niece Faith Cano. Merced will be greatly missed. The pallbearers will be Merced’s grandchildren: Julie Rivera, Judy Michel, Jessica Carreon, Vanessa Michel, Deborah Michel, Alicia Michel, Cecilia Rogers, and Erika Carreon. Funeral services are as follows, viewing and funeral will be on Thursday April 13, 2023, at 9 AM, followed by a mass held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at 11 am. Burial will follow at the Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, NM. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
