Melvin Lite Townsend

Obituary Melvin Lite Townsend, 87, a longtime resident of Estancia, passed away Thursday January 13, 2022 at his home. Melvin was born December 18, 1934 in Amarillo, TX, to L.B. and Ocie (McBride) Townsend. He met and married Phyllis Lavonne Roark, in Las Vegas, NM on September 30, 1952 . She survives him of their home. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Evis Townsend; two brothers John Townsend and Calvin Townsend; and one grandson Draper Schraff. Other survivors include one son Brad and his wife Linda Townsend of McIntosh, NM; one daughter Tammy and her husband Mathew Pinkey of Santee, CA; two brothers Leroy Townsend and his wife Sammy, and Robert Townsend and his wife Sue; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a family memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
