Matthew Ryan Williams (Matt) 47 After a life of fighting fires, saving lives, caring and helping others, Matthew Ryan Williams, 47, who lived in Edgewood New Mexico, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Matt was born on January 22, 1974 in Los Alamos New Mexico. Matt spent most of his life in Espanola New Mexico and considered himself to be from “El Valle de Arroyo Seco.” He attended Pojoaque Valley High School, Class of 1994 and studied Fire Science/EMT at the University of New Mexico. Matt’s many career endeavors included Detention Officer for the Espanola Police Department, Fire Fighter for the Espanola and Los Alamos Fire Departments, Set Medic for the New Mexico Film Industry, and Fire Investigator in the Southwest region. While Matt was “a man of many talents”, he had a huge passion for animals. He often posted videos of his horses, dogs, and kitten, or as he called them “his kids”, romping and performing. Matt was preceded in death by Grandfathers William R. Everett (II), Richard A. Frank and Grandmother Jane Frank. Matt is survived by his Mother Nancy A. Williams-Roybal and his father Joseph P. Frank and wife Eileen, Grandmother Norma Everett, Son, Sigfredo Martinez, Siblings Marco Roybal, Joey Frank (Misha), Denise (Todd) Bennetts Uncles, Walter (Jessie) Ogilvie, William (Bud) (III) and Daniel Everett, Richard (Liz), Robert (Peggie), and Donald (Amy) Frank, Aunts, Norma (Jim) Tolle, Donna (Dale) Osborn, Patty (Kelly) Blount, Beverly (Allen) Benites, and Renee (Mike) Ortega. Cousins, Melissa and, Kristin Osborn, Jennifer, Elizabeth, and William (IV) Everett, Cody Blount, Tammy Parker, Bruce and Brett Rhoden, Nicole Taylor, Lindsey Benites, Recardo, Carlos, Kristi, Nicholas, and Alex Frank, Brittney Atkinson, Ariell and Michael Ortega, Niece, Sofia Bennetts, Nephew, Carlos Bennetts, and Nephew and “Side-Kick” Christian L. Roybal. Due to Matt’s concern for others, and the Covid 19 Pandemic, a life-celebration will be postponed until it is safe for family and friends to come together.
