Mary Alice Davis, 87, passed away on July 15, 2020 in Moriarty, New Mexico. She was born on May 27, 1933 in Cimarron, NM to the late Gene and Alice Rose Clark. Mary graduated High School in Las Vegas, NM. Many of Mary’s school friends called her “Rusty” because of the color of her hair. Mary grew up riding and raising horses and participating in rodeo events. She loved running the barrels and poles at the rodeos. Mary ran for NM rodeo queen in 1951, she didn’t win but placed 3rd overall. Mary’s family lived in and around Cimarron for a few years, then moved around NM working on ranches and dairies. Gene also worked in the oil fields in Texas. She was married to Frank Davis in 1952. The had 2 sons, Frank Jr. and Calvin Davis. Frank Jr. died May 19, 1972. The family operated the Davis Transportation Company providing school buses for the children in the Moriarty area. Mary drove buses for many years and ran the business until her death. Mary started studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses in the fall of 2004. She enjoyed learning the truth from the Bible. When she found out what she needed to do to be pleasing to Jehovah, she made her dedication and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in April 19, 2008. Mary was determined to use the resto of her life in worship of her heavenly father Joseph. Mary is also preceded in death by her siblings, Ima Jean Holtzman and Charles Clark. She is survived by her son, Calvin; 4 grandsons, Calvin Davis Jr., Brandon Boe Davis, Colten Davis and Jason Davis; 3 great grandchildren, Evan, Riyanna and Peyton and siblings, Willard Clark and Patricia Epps. A Private Family Funeral has already taken place. Pallbearers were Jason Davis, Colton Davis, Brandon Davis, Calvin Davis Jr., Jeff Stein and Jayden Waldorf.
