Marie Lucy Wright, 85, passed away on September 18, 2019 in Edgewood, NM. She was born on December 13, 1933 in Lake Charles, La to the late Alexander and Mary Natali. Marie is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harrison Wright. She is survived by her son, Ronald Wright; daughter, Rebecca Starr; brother, Ron Natali; sister, Claudia Doucet, and grandchildren, Jacob Starr and Madeleine Wright. Marie was an avid lover of life and fun filled occasions. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures as chatting and visiting with friends, cooking her great Italian dishes, and spending time with her family. She never mastered it but she loved playing on her Wurlitzer upright piano when a teenager and being a majorette/baton twirler for high school football games. She always had time for her friends and family no matter how busy she was. She had a very good life and was noted for making her special "crustless" chicken salad sandwiches for all the major events with the family - reunions, weddings, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. She also loved to do mischievous things with/to her brother and sister. She would offer her brother Ronnie a dime and go as high as a quarter to aggravate her younger sister Claudia. One time when her brother Ronnie was about 12 years old, she hid in the bedroom near the light switch and grabbed his hand when he reached in the dark to turn on the light. Needless to say, he let out a loud scream and she thought it was so hilarious. Of course growing up as a very close family, they would make all family trips in the car to visit relatives in California, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Marie led an interesting and eventful life, moving to Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia in 1973, with her family. She lived there for 7 years and made many close friends, traveling to Italy, Greece, Spain, Austria, Germany, England, and Thailand many times. She moved to Cairo, Egypt in 1980, again with her family, and lived there for 3 years, enjoying her time by riding horses and camels at the pyramids. She continued going back and forth from the States to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Europe until 2000 when her husband, Harrison, finally retired from his civil engineering job. She later moved to NM to live with her daughter in 2015, and continued to travel around NM, as well as joining her daughter and grandson on trips to Colorado, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks. Marie will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Few words but ever so true: Loving and kind in all her ways, sincere and true in her heart and mind, beautiful memories she left behind, while she lies in peaceful sleep, her memory we shall always keep. Memorial Services will be scheduled in Lake Charles, La at a future date so all her close friends and family members can attend.
