Maria Estella Gonzales

Maria Estella Gonzales, 65, met the eyes of Jesus on August 10, 2018 surrounded by family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on July 29, 1953 in Adelino, New Mexico to the late Processo and Rita (Perea) Lucero. On July 12, 1975 she married her soul mate Charles David Gonzales in New Mexico. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, selfless and truly caring individual to her family and friends. Maria was a devout Catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Alamogordo, NM. She loved the casinos and was a previous member of a bowling team. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Maria is also preceded in death by her brothers, Querino Lucero and Michael Lucero. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Gonzales of Alamogordo, NM; sons, David Martin Gonzales and wife Jeannie of Raton, NM and Joseph Paul Gonzales of Whidbey Island, WA; brother, Manual Lucero of Tome, NM and sisters, Euricina Armijo, Flora Eylicio and husband Julian, Dolores Gonzales and husband Pablo all of Belen, NM, Mary Ann Jaramillo of Tome, NM and Mary Lou Lucero of Albuquerque, NM. Maria was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Alissa Gonzales, Amilia Gonzales, Luisa Janel Herrera, Luis Jaime Herrera and David Michael Gonzales. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, NM. The Viewing will be at 8:30 A.M. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 A.M with the Celebration of Mass to follow at 10:30 A.M. with Monsignor Olona officiating. Interment will be at the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery in Punta de Agua, NM. Pallbearers will be Mark Gonzales, Guy Lopez, Alex Velasquez, Eric Garcia, Steven Candelaria and Joshua Gonzales. Honorary Pallbearers will be D.M. Gonzales, Rudy Nolasco and L.J. Herrera.
