Manuel Romero

On May 24th, 2023 at the age of 82, Manuel Romero passed peacefully after given his Last Rites, surrounded by loved ones. Manuel was born on March 12th, 1941, in Manzano, New Mexico to Jose and Dolores “Lola” Otero-Romero. He was preceded in death by his Daughter, Angela Romero and sister, Prescilla Quintana. He is survived by the love of his life Reina; son Manuel Romero Jr.; niece, Ramona Quintana; and his niece Suzanne Garcia; and many more nephews and nieces. Better known as 49er, A passion of his, was drawing and painting. Manuel was a wonderful artist. His artwork was publicized in local newspapers in the 80’s. He spent time with his great-nieces and nephew, teaching them to sketch landscapes. Manuel also loved to play his guitar. He sat with friends singing old Corridos. Manuel was known to walk around town with his faithful dog, Cholo. He is loved and will be missed by all his family. Memorial Service to be held Friday, June 9, 2023. Rosary will begin at 10:00 AM followed by Mass beginning at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Manzano New Mexico. Burial will take place at the Manzano Cemetery in Manzano New Mexico.
