Johnny "Juan" Joseph Mendez

Johnny “Juan” Joseph Mendez, 70, passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 18, 2018. Juan was born on July 3, 1947 in Clovis, New Mexico to the late Solomon and Madelena (Gallegos Delgado) Mendez. Juan will be deeply missed by his family, friends and community. Juan is also preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Mendez, Bobby Mendez and Jody Delgado. Juan is survived by his beloved wife, Arlene Mendez; sons, Ruben Mendez and wife Heather and Michael Mendez and wife Chelsea; daughters, Mellisa Mendez, Christina Mendez and fiancé Laura, Kathyrn Mendez-Hernandez and husband Karlos and Shauna Gutierrez; brothers, Eddie Mendez and wife Lourdes and Andrew Mendez; sisters, Mary Mendez, Bernice Montoya, Geneva Gallegos and husband Fabian, Cecilia Delgado and husband Ernest, Dixie Carpio and husband Jesus; Barbara Delgado and Ida Torrez and husband William; grandchildren, Angel Amber, Chris, Aaron, Ashley, Sebastian, Britnee, Issaiah, Skylar, Kendra, Jericho, Alexia, Hezekiah, Amanda, Elyse, Alyssa, Mikaylee, Aiden, Devon, Gabriela and Madelynn; great-grandchildren, Esperanza, Xavier, Yadira, Ezekiel, Ruben Jr., Arianna and Aurora as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and dear friends. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, New Mexico. The Viewing will be at 9:00 A.M. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 A.M. with the Celebration of Mass to follow at 11:00 A.M. Father Lancaster will officiate. Pallbearers will by Mike Padilla, Arnold Gurule, Jody Jones, Jerry Mendez, Dennis Chavez and Ruben LaJeunesse. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Juan’s grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Interment will be at the El Rosario Cemetery in Willard, New Mexico.
