Janice Ann Ashbaugh

The most happiest lady around, Janice Ann Ashbaugh passed away on February 6, 2022 at 80 years of age. She was born to Michael and Anna (Staph) Sablich on July 30, 1941 in Duquesne PA. She married the love of her life, Richard Earl Ashbaugh on September 6, 1960 and celebrated 61 years of marriage but were together for 66 years. They moved to Albuquerque New Mexico, where she tended to the home, Richard and raising her four daughters. As time went on they moved to Estancia Valley where they bought a farm, grew wheat, raised Angus cattle and race horses. Janice loved going to all the school activities to watch her girls and grandchildren. As “empty nest” syndrome set in with only one daughter at home, she started to sell Avon and sold it for 30+ years. She met a lot of people and made many lifetime friends. She attended the Moriarty Church of Christ. She was a member of the McIntosh Community Center, where she held many officer positions. She became the president and loved having Halloween carnivals, Easter egg hunts and Christmas parties with Santa for the community. She helped in organizing the monthly breakfast and made the BEST green chili in this world! Janice always had a smile on her face and had a sweet laugh. She made everyone feel special and loved. Her weekly fun was playing bingo every Tuesday night. Sometimes she would win, and sometime she would lose, but that didn't stop her from going! Janice attended the silver sneakers exercise group in Moriarty for many years. She loved exercising! Janice was always so healthy and did everything she could to be healthy!
