James Lee Maurice

James Lee Maurice, age 26, passed away at his home on September 15, 2021in Edgewood New Mexico. James, Jimmy, was born on January 29, 1995 to James and Jean Maurice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jimmy was predeceased by his father, James B Maurice, his grandparents Catherine and Martin DeMarte, and his grandfather Robert Maurice. He is survived by his mother, Jean DeMarte-Maurice of Edgewood New Mexico, his grandmother, Alice Maurice of Coos Bay, Oregon, his sister Anna Maurice of Albuquerque and Jennifer Spencer and husband Josh, nephews, Ben and Daniel and niece, Sarah and his girlfriend Gabriella (Gabby) Martinez of Edgewood. Jimmy was a kind and gentle soul who had a big heart and always ready to help friends and family. He loved to fish and spent a lot of time at Lake Powell fishing with his family. Jimmy loved to wear hats, collecting quite a few during his short time on earth. Jimmy loved animals, constantly rescuing them and bringing them home. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Legacy Church Edgewood Campus, 379 Highway 344, Edgewood NM 87015.
