James Edward Logan

November 22, 1961 — October 20, 2022

James Edward Logan November 22, 1961 – October 20, 2022 At the age of 60, Jim Logan passed away in his sleep at his home in Edgewood, NM. Jim was the husband of Sophie Marie and the son of Walter Alvin and Elaine Louise Logan. He was born in Springfield, Missouri and is the youngest of five children. He moved to New Mexico with his family when he was a child. He served in the Army Reserve for the state of New Mexico and worked as an EMT in Albuquerque. His work brought him into frequent contact with trauma and suffering, but his heart did not harden. He continued to care about people throughout his life. Jim and Sophie were partners in life for decades. Jim and Sophie met in Albuquerque when they were in their twenties. They raised their children in Edgewood. Three sons served in the Army and when each son was deployed to the Middle East, their parents remained strong. Sophie was the love of Jim’s life. She became severely disabled from a stroke, and Jim cared for her for over eight years before she passed away. He was very lonely without her these past two years. They were separated in life, but now are united in death. Jim is survived by Sophie’s children whom he loved and is proud of: Sonya, June, Donald, Fabian, and Christopher. Jim is also survived by his older siblings who loved him: Janis, Charles, Joyce, and Roy. Jim was a country boy who loved the outdoors and camping and fishing. He found serenity in the wilderness. His ashes will be returned to the nature that brought peace to his life. Jim was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. His memorial is in the hearts of those who loved him. Jim loved animals, and his dogs were members of his family. In loving memory, please donate to the Wildflower Ranch and Rescue of Edgewood, NM: wildflowerrescue.org
