James Robert Gibson

May 22, 1944 — December 22, 2020

Heaven received two more angels with the passing of Betty Lou and James Robert Gibson. Betty passed on December 17th and James on December 22nd. Betty (Mrs. Honey) and James (Mr. Honey) were middle school sweethearts. Together for 62 years, they cherished every loving moment with each other, their children and grandchildren. Betty was the matriarch of the family and loved with everything she had and gave all that she could. She was the most loving mother and grandmother. Whomever was in front of her at the moment was told that they were her favorite. She saw no fault or flaws in anyone that she loved. She welcomed everyone with salsa (that cannot be duplicated), no one went hungry in her presence. James was everyone’s best friend and would open his home and shop to anyone that needed it and welcomed them with a silver bullet, a tall tale and a good laugh. He was a wealth of knowledge and could fix anything with duct tape and bailing wire. He had a true passion for cars, racing the ponies and hanging with his friends and family. Betty and James were some of the most tenacious folks you could of ever met. They shared a mutual knack for picking on each other that put a smile on everyone’s face. We were blessed to have been a part of and witness their beautiful love story, their quick wit, and zest for life. They will always live in the hearts of their beloved family and friends. May god keep you both in his amazing grace. We love you mom and dad! Betty was proceeded in death by Father Chelsea Morgan Sizemore, Mother Olive Jane Roseberry. James was proceeded in death by Father James Robert Gibson the 1st and Mother Olga Gibson. Both proceeded in death by Dustin Wade Gibson and Klayton Wayne Gibson. Betty and James are survived by her their children, Janie and Joel Cole, Hoot Gibson, Clarence and Jessica Gibson, Mike Tavenner and Christine. Betty’s sisters, Rose Obar, Freda Block, and Diane Locke; Grandchildren, Jason Gibson, Billy and Candace Gibson, Katybeth Gibson, Robert Miller, Colt Gibson, Xander Gibson; Keyon Johnson; Great grandchildren, Mackenzie Gibson, Cypress Gibson, Bleu Curley, Charlize Gibson and Liam Gibson.
