Hazel Joyce Shaw

Hazel Joyce Shaw passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday February 5, 2022. She was 92. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Sam, brothers Roy and Joe Lester and sisters LaRue Speckman and Nina Taylor. Joyce was born November 12, 1929 to A.M and Eunice Williams Lester. Joyce enjoyed working and over the years worked a myriad of jobs from switchboard operator, to drugstore owner, to bank teller and office clerk for several car dealerships. She was a member of Mountainair Church of Christ. Joyce enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking. She loved gathering family together and enjoying a good meal. Joyce was an active member of both the Coronado Club and Chuckwagon CowBelles. She is survived by her sons Kenneth (Venita) Shaw, of Mountainair, NM, Keith (Diane) Shaw of Sylvester, GA. Brother-in-law Jerry Shaw and sister-in-law Marion Shaw, Grandsons Heath (Rachel) Shaw of Dahlonega, GA, Justin (Nick) Shaw of Durham, NC, Chad (Megan) Shaw of Buford, GA, and three great-grandchildren, Lcpl Bailey Amey of 29 Palms, CA, Raven Amey of Dahlonega and Zoe Shaw of Buford, GA. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She was a thoughtful and kind friend to all who knew her. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Mountainair Assembly of God in Mountainair, New Mexico. The Viewing will be at 10:00 A.M. with the Service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Pallbearers will be Heath Shaw, Justin Shaw, Chad Shaw, Nick Shaw, Bailey Amey and Jeff Shovelin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carol Schwenn, Ruth Ivey, Michelle Archuleta, Rita McKinley and Michelle Stephens. Burial will take place at the Mountainair Cemetery in Mountainair, NM.
