Glenn Dale “Butch” McGee, 72, passed away on May 25, 2019 in Estancia, New Mexico. He was born on February 3, 1947 in Albuquerque, NM. Butch was a lifetime resident of New Mexico and a staple of Estancia. He was a Vietnam Navy veteran where he earned several medals including the Bronze Star, member of the Masonic Lodge and taught Hunter Safety. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt, camp, and fish where he would tell stories that will last a lifetime. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren nothing made him more proud then his Grandchildren from winning small awards, winning rodeos, watching them graduate to joining the Navy just like him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and community. Butch is also preceded in death by his parents, Glendon and Erma Ann (Thomas) McGee and brother, Michael “Mickey” McGee. Butch is survived by his sons, Glenn August McGee and Christopher McGee; daughter, Margery McGee- Schlesener and husband Shane; nephew, Eric Darden and sisters, Judy Bradfute and Linda Hinkles; Butch was blessed with 9 grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many, many friends. A Memorial Service is planned for Friday, May 31, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Estancia United Methodist Church in Estancia, NM. A Reception will follow at the Torrance County Fairgrounds.
