Gilbert Samuel Sanchez, 77, a long time resident of McIntosh, NM, passed away April 1, 2021, in Albuquerque, NM. Gilbert was born February 6, 1944 to Eufelio and Adonelia (Vigil) Sanchez in Taos, NM. He is preceded in death by his parents an one brother Arthur Sanchez. Gilbert is survived by his wife Lena Marie Sanchez of McIntosh, NM; six sons, Julian Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Sanchez of Taos, NM, Ruben Sanchez and his wife Andrea M. of Rio Rancho, NM, Jose Garcia and wife Bernadette of Rio Rancho, NM, Gilbert Sanchez and his wife Jaime of Taos, NM, and Adam Garcia and his wife Michelle of NJ; two daughters Bernice Monteith and her husband David of Rio Rancho, NM , and Andrea A. Sanchez of Taos, NM; two brothers, Eddie Sanchez and Christopher Sanchez; three sisters, Lorraine Sanchez, Erlinda Gonzales, and Virginia Ibarra; 21 Grandchildren and 8 great-Grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday April 15, 2021 @ 10:30 am at the St Thomas Aquinas catholic church in Rio Rancho, NM. Burial of cremains will follow at the Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho, NM. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, in Moriarty, NM.
