George Jonigian (November 6, 1927 – August 26, 2021) George Jonigian, 93, passed away in his sleep on August 26, 2021, in Moriarty, New Mexico. He was born November 6, 1927, in Manhattan, New York to the late Harry and Blanch (Woolhiser) Jonigian. George served his country honorably while in The United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of the Teamsters driving trucks for Helms and Ryder P.I.E. George was a long-time resident of New Mexico, but a true New Yorker in his heart. At 93, he got around like nobody's business. He always said, “Your body gets old, but if you stay young in your mind, you will always be young.” Words to live by. He also loved his cat “Nemo” like he was his child. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Nagy) Jonigian, and daughter, Barbara Ann Phillips Jonigan. George is survived by his son Lawrence Jonigian, his beloved grandson and his fiancé, Richard Aaron Phillips, and Carol Jean Mitchem (TJ). He was a father, grandfather, great grandfather that will be loved and remembered forever. We love you so much. Rest In Peace.
