Geneva Martinez 1956-2021 Geneva Martinez, 64, met her Lord and Savior face-to-face as he called her to her eternal home from this earth on Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born on December 26, 1956 in Albuquerque, NM to the late Vita and father Johnny Chavez. Geneva lived in Estancia, NM for the majority of her life. She was currently employed as a part-time Librarian Assistant by the Town of Estancia. She married her loving, supportive, and beloved husband Mark Martinez in Torrance County and celebrated their 40th Anniversary in July of this year. She was preceded in death by her late husband Eutemio Chavez (AKA Tootsie Chavez), eldest daughter, Genise Chavez, youngest daughter Corina Martinez, and mother Vita Chavez. Geneva loved her faith in Christ and shared it wherever possible. One of her strengths was working for the movie industry as an actress; including being a stand-in for Mimi Rogers and various speaking roles. She also loved reading, watching movies, shopping, and spending time with her family. Geneva’s sweet spirit will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her. Geneva is survived by her beloved husband Mark Martinez, middle daughter Genell Chavez-Morris and her husband Dane Morris, and two grandchildren Alanna and Tyler Chavez-Mitchell. As well as her father Johnny Chavez, younger sister Francine Chavez, and brothers Patrick Zamora and wife Gwen, Florancio Zamora and partner Christine Baca, George Chavez and wife Violet, Andrew Chavez and partner Brandy Solis, and brother-in-laws Robert and Michael Gatan. A celebration of life will be held at the First Assembly of God in Estancia, NM on December 18th at 1pm.
