Gayle Elizabeth Ayers

Gayle Elizabeth Hille Ayers, 72, of Estancia, NM, passed away suddenly in her home on November 22, 2022. She was born on August 8th,1950 in Las Cruces, NM to Alvin Richard “Dick” and Maxine Billie Beach Hille. After graduating from Mayfield High School in 1968, she went on to study Nutrition Sciences at New Mexico State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1973. Gayle met Jimmy Ayers while in college and they wed in 1974. They started a family in 1978, residing in Anthony, TX for nearly three decades. Gayle was employed as a Licensed Clinical Dietician for the United States Veterans Administration in El Paso for 30 years before retiring in 2004 to the family’s ranch in Estancia, NM. Gayle was a passionate believer in Jesus Christ and wanted everyone she knew to have a relationship with Jesus. She and Jimmy loved to country dance and did so every opportunity they could. In her retirement, she could be found assisting Jimmy in all of his many projects around the ranch, traveling to shows to sell boots with Jimmy and tending to her garden in the summer months. She was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother who always had a smile on her face and put others first. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents Alvin Richard ”Dick” Hille & Maxine Billie Beach Hille, her husband of 47 years James “Jimmy” Alan Ayers, and brother-in-law Thomas Mobley. She is survived by three children: Jamie Ayers and wife Christy of Lubbock, TX and their children Ethan, Aubree, and Jayton; Jimi Ann Losleben and husband Chris of Glendale, AZ and their children Bradley, Jocelyn and Brandon; Jeremy Ayers and wife Tatianna of Phoenix, AZ and their children Owen and Alivia, brother Rod Hille and wife Bonnie of Engle, NM; sister Ann Mobley of Dona Ana, NM; sister Linda Edwards and husband Joel of Lordsburg, NM; sister-in-law Betty Hochalter and husband Mel of La Quinta, Ca; sister-in-law Barbara Tatum of Glendale, CO; in addition to many nieces, nephews and their children. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 13th at 1:00PM at the First United Methodist Church in Estancia, NM with burial to follow at the Estancia Cemetery in Estancia, NM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial gifts be made to the First United Methodist Church of Estancia, NM or the New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch.
