Gareth Robert Stitt

Gareth Stitt, 42, of Moriarty died unexpectedly on March 6, 2022, from an undiagnosed GI bleed. His loss was completely unforeseen, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. Gareth was born on December 29, 1979, to Robert Stitt and Carolyn Allen Stitt in Suffolk, England. Gareth attended Moriarty High School and was passionate about history and civics. After graduating high school, Gareth moved on to college and an IT career with several companies and as a private contractor. Gareth lived with his high school best friend/college sweetheart, Joanna Paige Stitt, in Albuquerque and in Stanley, NM. Gareth and Joanna were married in Albuquerque on April 15, 2005. They moved to New Orleans for 6 years, and then settled down in Moriarty, NM. They have 2 young children, Aria and Lyric, who will carry on his legacy of kindness and curiosity. Anyone who knew Gareth, knew that he was a dedicated husband and father with a passion for music and politics. Gareth’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say. Gareth, “You’ll be with me, like a handprint on my heart.” Gareth is survived by his wife and daughters, Joanna Stitt, Aria Stitt and Lyric Stitt. He is also survived by his father Robert Stitt, mother Carolyn Allen, and his brother Gavin Stitt and his wife and sons, Jenna Stitt, Jordan Stitt, and Sidney Stitt.
