Fernando Zamora affectionately known as Fred, by many of his friends and family, passed away on May 5, 2021 at the of age 83 Fernando was born to Cruzita and Jose Zamora on April 16, 1938 in Tajique New Mexico. Fernando then became a resident of Estancia, where he was a devoted member of St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church. He became an alter server at a very young age and served until he was old enough to become a lector, and later a Eucharistic Minister. He served on the Estancia Valley Parish Finance Counsel for many years. He was also a past member of The Knights of Columbus. After High School, he attended St. Joseph’s College in Albuquerque NM. With so many personal and medical sacrifices, he began working at the NM Department of Labor as an auditor until his retirement after 27 years. Fernando was well known for his collections of Santos, antique clocks, and valuable paintings by famous artists from around the world. Some of which he shared with his friends and family. His beautiful daily computer sketches, which he was very proud of, were well known and appreciated by many. Fred met many people and made countless friends on his trips to flea markets and antique shows where he encountered much of his collection. In addition to his many talents, he was also a photographer and a fine artist. He loved fine art and classical music. Fernando had no children of his own, but he loved his godchildren as if they were. Barbara Zamora, Carrie Strauch and Ethan Zamora Fernando is preceded in death by his mother Cruzita Zamora, his father Jose Zamora, and his sisters Trinidad Zamora, Margaret Mary Zamora, and Evelina Zamora-Sanchez. His brothers, Juan Zamora, and Leandro Zamora. His brothers in law, Benjamin Perea and Manuel Sanchez, sisters in law, Stella Zamora and Reyes Zamora. Fernando is survived by his sisters, Celeste Perea, Margaret Gallegos and her husband, Patrick Gallegos. Brothers, Melcor Zamora, Robert Zamora and his wife Nora, Antonio Zamora and his wife Irene, Gilbert Zamora and his wife Sharon, Joe Zamora Jr, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ethan Zamora, James Klein David Zamora, Taylor Anderson, Victor Aguilar, and Daniel J. Gutierrez Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recite at 10:00 AM follow with Holy Mass starting at 11:00am on Thursday May 13, 2021 at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church in Estancia. Burial will follow Mass at the Estancia Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
