Ernest Filadelfio Garcia, 66, of Moriarty, New Mexico, passed away on May 17, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he was staying with his daughter, Rosalie. Ernest was born in Santa Rosa, NM on December 6, 1954 to the late Librado and Dometillia (Gomez) Garcia. Ernest was a caring father and grandfather who loved his family very much. He enjoyed staying active, whether it was doing yard work or working on his cars, he always kept busy. He was always a hard worker who never let anything go unfinished. Ernest’s favorite past time was spending quality time with his grandkids and daughters. He will be dearly missed by many. Ernest is also proceeded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Albert, Raynaldo, Valentin Garcia and sisters, Charlotte and Rosalie Garcia. Ernest is survived by his daughters, Rosalie Duke (Tim) and Lynda Strenger (Andrew); brothers, Robert Garcia, Valentin Joe Garcia, Jake Garcia (Doris), Daniel Gomez (Cindy) and Johnny Ray Cordova; sisters, Mary Ethel Gallegos (George), Gloria Romero (Pat) and Theresa Archuleta (Sal); sisters in law, Mary Ruth Garcia and Yolanda Garcia; ex wife, Rebecca Marquez as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ernest was blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren, Jonathan Duke, Liana Duke and Matthew Duke. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, New Mexico. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 A.M. with the Celebration of Mass to follow at 11:00. Pallbearers will be Tim Duke, Andrew Strenger, Jonathan Duke, James Romero, Johnny Lee Garcia, Albert Garcia and Abraham West. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alfred Garcia, Bryan Mabry, Rick Garcia, Michael Garcia, Gerald Garcia, Liana Duke and Matthew Duke. Burial will be at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, New Mexico.
