Erineo "Eddie" Padilla

Erineo “Eddie” Padilla, 85, passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 3, 2021 in Mountainair, New Mexico. He was born on October 14, 1935 to the late Eduardo Padilla and Rosita Lueras. Eddie was a lifetime resident of Mountainair, NM. Eddie met the love of his life, Mollie Luna and subsequently married on Valentine’s Day February 14, 1956. As devout Catholics they raised their six children in St. Alice Catholic Church where they were lifetime members. Eddie was a great planner, very responsible, hardworking and talented man. He worked for the City of Mountainair as Supervisor of the Public Works Department until his retirement. He was a School Board Member, served as Commissioner of the Manzano Land Grant for 2 years. He and Marcos Romero exchanged ideas and worked on many projects together throughout the years. Eddie and Richard Ballejos maintained the acequia de Punta de Aqua and utilized the spring water for agricultural traditions. He was a Roofer, Welder, Plumber, Rancher, an excellent Rock mason, a Member of the Society of San Jose of Torreon, NM, was a Vincentian and was well known in his community. Eddie was a wonderful father and tata and godfather of many and will be deeply missed by his family, community, and friends. Eddie is also preceded in death by his wife, Mollie and by 5 great grand babies. He is survived by his sons, Edward Padilla and wife Diana, Rick Padilla and wife Charmen and John Adrian Padilla and companion Brenda; daughters, Mary Rose Jaramillo and husband Kevin, Corina Ortiz and husband Pat and Agatha Jaramillo and husband Benny Lee; brothers Ramon Padilla, Senovio Padilla, Mike Padilla and Bobby Chavez; sisters, Mary Padilla, Delfinia Luna and Canda Chavez. Eddie was blessed with 20 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. Including many beloved cousins, nephews, and nieces. Above all of his worldly accomplishments and endeavors, the greatest accomplishment is that he is now in the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held at St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair New Mexico, Father Malachy Obiejise will officiate. Pallbearers will be his sons Edward Padilla, Rick Padilla, John Adrian Padilla, Pat Ortiz, Benny Lee Jaramillo and Kevin Jaramillo. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Burial will follow at the Mountainair Catholic Cemetery in Mountainair, New Mexico.
