Donald Sam Packingham Donald "Don" Sam Packingham passed away on December 6, 2021, from COVID-19. Don was born on June 4, 1944, to parents Donald Packingham and Florence Lyons in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Don was a self-made man with humble beginnings and worked hard as a steelworker on skyscrapers and a myriad of other careers, including being an explosive specialist for the movie industry (he notably worked on Red Dawn, his favorite movie), different law enforcement branches and was a world-traveled businessman. He served the Torrance and Bernalillo County communities in law enforcement for several years. Don will be remembered as a generous spirit, a wonderful storyteller, a history buff, and a firearms expert. He was loved by many friends and family. Don is preceded in death by his mother Florence, his father Donald, stepmother Hermine, brother Michael, and daughter Debbie. Don is survived by his wife Crystal Packingham, his sisters Kay White, Ruth Ann Jacobson, Emma Mottashed, and Denise Gruggs; his daughter Donna Woody, sons Donnie and David Packingham, stepdaughters Shannon Gibson and Miranda Lawrence, and eleven grandchildren. Services will be held on April 1st, at 10:00am at Harris Hanlon Mortuary, 807 Central Avenue, Moriarty NM. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
