Smorty loved his family very much and wore the biggest smile on his face when he was helping them. Smorty was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. He worked doing all types of jobs but the ones that stand out are working as a surveyor with Oden & Associates and Wilson & Company. He took a lot of pride doing this type of work with little to no education-just on the job training. He lived his days as if they were his last - no cares in the world. He was always lending a hand to those in need without asking for anything in return. In his younger years he loved to play softball having played with the infamous “Blue Crew” aka “Bobby’s Crew”. He now joins his best friends, Bobby Gonzales and Pete Encinias, in heaven to play ball and just raise a little bit of hell and drink a cold one. A memorial service will be held Friday December 9, 2022 @ 3:00 pm at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. The family will plan a big party as Smorty requested in the summer months.
