David "Lee" Cordova

David Lee Cordova “Lee”, 89, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2022. Lee was born January 5, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to George and Lola (Kolb) Cordova. He attended Round Rock High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX, where he majored in History and Bible Studies. Lee was married to Rose (Manchego) Cordova in Santa Fe, NM on February 15, 1971. The couple lived with their children in Santa Rosa, NM where they owned the local Chevrolet dealership. In 1984, they moved to Moriarty, NM, where Lee continued his career in the automotive business at Tillery Chevrolet. A gifted story-teller, Lee enjoyed sharing memories of his childhood and many hunting adventures. He served as a volunteer law enforcement officer with the New Mexico Mounted Patrol from 1972 to 2020. A true patriot, he loved his country, his family and his Lord. He will be missed. Lee is preceded in death by his parents George and Lola Cordova, sister Patsy Lamme, brother Jimmy Ray Cordova, and his beloved son, Andrew Cordova. Lee is survived by his wife of 51 years Rose (Manchego) Cordova, daughter Louann Nicholson (Albuquerque), son David M. Cordova and his wife Carmella (Santa Fe), son Mark Cordova and his wife Shari (Albuquerque), and daughter Lori Cordova (Scottsdale), as well as 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law , many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church in Moriarty, NM. Eulogy by Pastor Roger Russell. Lunch to follow at Chili Hills Restaurant in Moriarty, NM. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. A private burial will be held for immediate family at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty, NM.
