Darlene Yvonne Gibbs

DARLENE YVONNE GIBBS Passed away peacefully at her home & with her longtime partner & companion Ken Martin On April 8, 2025.

She was born In Durango, Co on March 23, 1942.

Darlene & her first husband Udell (dilly) Kirkendoll moved to Edgewood in early 1970s with their children Terrie Lynn Kirkendoll and Daniel Ray Kirkendoll. She married Jim Gibbs March 1979 until his death in 1993. She and Ken Martin shared a very special love and admiration for one another and lived with Ken at his ranch for the past 30+ years.

Darlene Grew up on Road construction traveling around New Mexico with Her Mother Margaret Ritter. She Rodeoed in her youth was very good barrel racer that she passed along to her daughter Terrie. She went to many schools and then Graduated from Corona High School. Darlene Loved to travel she especially loved her trip with Ken to Alaska, shop for Turquoise Jewelry, Boating, Fishing, loved being with family at events, even just having lunch with loved ones. She was very active in community she was a 4-H leader in Edgewood, member of Lions Club in Moriarty. She attended every event for her children from birthdays, 4-H, FFA, Football, Band, Choir, Graduations, and so much more.

She was a very giving, unconditional loving mother, grandmother daughter wife & friend always supporting her children, Friends, Family and community in everyway possible.

She is Preceded in death by her Father Daniel Ritter, Mother Margaret (Gibbs) Ritter, husbands Udell (Dilly) Kirkendoll & Jim Gibbs, Son Daniel (Danny) Kirkendoll, Stepson Jimmy Joe Gibbs and many other family members that met her and welcomed her into Heaven.

She is survived by Her Daughter Terrie Kirkendoll (Don Pearson), Ken Martin & Grandchildren James G. Gibbs Sr, Tanya Yvonne Echtenacher (Kyle) , Scott Morgan Hamilton (Brittiny Kettles), Ricky James Hamilton, Dustin Rion Wexler ( Irene Uribe), Ashley Wexler (Bryan Buenrostro) Great Grandchildren Rin Heuer, Jayme Gibbs, James Gibbs Jr, Evanna Buenrostro, Raiden Buenrostro, Emoree Wexler, Liliana Hamilton & Morgan Echtenacher. Other family members Shaunna Royce, Cody Gibbs, Brandi Gibbs, Justin Gibbs, Bryan Gibbs, Amanda Gibbs & Alisha Jones and many others.

She touched every heart she met. Darlene was very forgiving, had a wonderfully wicked sense of humor, wonderful horseman, and generally just loved life. She found & spread happiness everywhere she went. She will truly be missed but will always live on in our hearts and prayers.
