Clifton Daniel Swope of Albuquerque passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was born to the late Emry and Opal Swope on September 28, 1948, in Mountainair, NM. Clifton graduated from Mountainair High School in 1966. Over the years, he worked as a correctional officer, a property maintenance technician, and a security guard. He lived in Kansas, Texas, and California before returning to New Mexico in 2003 to help care for his ailing, elderly parents. He lived in an assisted-living facility in Albuquerque since 2010 and grew in his Christian faith in his later years. In addition to his parents, Clifton was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Floyd. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Newton Floyd of Belen, NM; his nephew, Randall (Cindy) Floyd of Clayton, NM; his nephew, Tim (Lori) Floyd of Evanston, WY; and other extended family members. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Mountainair Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6. Clifton’s two nephews will officiate. Pallbearers will be Randall Floyd, Tim Floyd, Kevin Harris, Glenn Fulfer, Clyde Fulfer, and Walt Hanff. Arrangements entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary.
