Christopher R Lopez, age 40 of Estancia New Mexico, passed away peacefully on April 8th, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher R Lopez, a beloved father, husband, son, brother, friend and grandfather who passed away on April 8th, 2025 at the age of 40. Chris was struggling with cirrhosis of the liver along with severe kidney failure. He was hospitalized on Sunday March 30th, 2025 where he put up a great fight with trying dialysis to overcome the illness which unfortunately did not work. He requested to come home where two days later he passed peacefully at home in Estancia New Mexico with his family where he loved to be the most.

Chris was a loving husband to Stefanie Lopez, Father of three kids Francisco, Santiago, and Orlando, Grandfather of Matias, and Lorenzo Lopez, as well as a caring brother to Jesus, Jennifer, and Anthony Lopez, also an uncle to many nieces and nephews. Chris attended Estancia High School, after he completed his time through high school he learned many skills such as mechanicing, landscaping, roofing, woodworking, along with a plethora of other trades needed to support his family and friends. He was always helping out the community in any way he could whether it was with vehicles, yard work or even the simplest duties such as opening the door for someone.
Chris is survived by his wife Stefanie, his children Francisco, Santiago, and Orlando, His grandchild Lorenzo, mother Lucy Trujillo, father Jesus (Richard) Lopez, siblings Jennifer and Jesus Lopez, daughter in law Desiree Lopez, Father in law Venses Sanchez, Mother in law Margaret Sanchez and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Anthony Lopez, Grandchild Matias Lopez, Grandmother Lugarda R Trujillo, Grandfather Isidro Lopez, and Grandfather Ramon Trujillo.
Chris was an amazing, caring, loving, big hearted soul that always cared about taking care of others before himself, always risking everything to help out with family and friends to the best he could. Chris was an amazing Friend, Uncle, Grandfather, Brother, Father, Son, and Husband. That will be forever missed. He was known for his amazing skills with not only mechanicing but as well as his great humor, caring heart, his favorite catch phrase “SEND IT” and most importantly his snappy attitude when he didn’t like something.
Celebration of Life services
We are holding the celebration of life services on Friday April 18th, 2025 at the Estancia high school main gym at 11:00 AM (709 Hopewell, Estancia NM, 87016) then reception following after services conclude.
