Carolyn “Sue” Geckler, 89, a resident of Moriarty, NM, passed away Friday April 18, 2025, Sue, was born on November 30, 1935, in Noble Oklahoma to Worth H and Louise (Havron) Hinton. Sue attended school in Norman Oklahoma and worked at a Drug Store making milk shakes. Later in life, Sue worked at the Sacramento Methodist Assembly for many years and was best known for her Apple Crisp. After leaving the Assembly Sue worked as a nurse’s aide in Alamogordo and finally was the head cook for the Cloudcroft Senior Center.

Sue, married her husband Duane Geckler on July 23, 1955, in Carlsbad NM. Sue loved purple and Lily’s were her favorite flowers. Sue will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sue, was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, her parents, 2 brothers, and 2 half-sisters.

Sue, is survived by her 2 sons Steve Hinton and Freddie Duane Geckler Jr and his wife Phyllis of Durant Oklahoma; daughter Leatrice Geckler of Moriarty, NM; 2 sisters Jaynee Bell, and Barbara Myers, and a half brother David Hinton of Oklahoma; grandchildren Cody, Rhonda, Jason, David, Shilo, Gary, Shannon, and Melissa; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday April 28, 2025 @ 10:00 AM at Mountain Acres Cemetery, Mayhill, NM.
