Carolina Torres, age 85, passed away on November 18, 2020. She was born October 26, 1935 to Jake Mossman and Bertha (Cisneros) Lucero in Questa, NM. She spent her early childhood years with her grandparents Fermin and Beatrice Cisneros in Questa and then moved to Price, Utah to live with her parents. She moved back to Questa, NM at age 17. She married Jose Antonio Romero at age 18 and they had 8 children. She later married Ricardo Torres of Arroyo Seco, NM and they resided in Taos, NM for many years, later moving to Moriarty, NM. Carolina was the hub of the family, where family and friends went to talk, feast, celebrate, and socialize. She hosted family gatherings for holidays and special events. She enjoyed visiting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved people, company, and social get togethers. Her smile, laugh, jokes, stories, and good humor will be missed. She is preceded in death by two children, Donald Romero and Jose Antonio Romero, Jr; her grandson Richard Erl Leyba; her husband Ricardo Torres; her mother Bertha Cisneros Lucero; her grandparents Fermin and Beatrice Cisneros; her brothers Jake Mossman and Gene Mossman. Carolina is survived by 6 children: Linda Romero of Albuquerque, NM; Elaine Romero of Fort Garland, CO; Ronald Romero (Lia) of Lumberton, NJ; Carol Bojorquez (Roman) of Edgewood, NM; Anthony Leonard Romero (Mary Kay), Rio Rancho, NM; Claudia Romero, San Antonio, TX. Her grandchildren: Ana Romero Jurisson (David), John Lucero, Cristella Romero Greene (Don), Christopher Romero, Stevens Romero, Greg Romero, Brandon Romero, Roman Bojorquez (Amber), Judem Bojorquez, Leonard Romero, Alyssa Romero, Miguel Ochoa (Carolina), Jessica Ochoa, and Emilio Ochoa. Her great grandchildren are: Selena, Destiny, Romancito, Ezequiel, Anthony James, Angel, Ayla, Amaris, Avian, and Micah. She is survived by her 4 sisters: Julie Vasquez (Leroy); Louise Babcock (Ken); Rosemary Stroud (Jerry); and Mae Aguayo (Joe). She is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. We will all miss her dearly, but her strong spirit will be with us forever. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private Catholic Rosary, Mass, and graveside service will be held. The children of Carolina hope to plan a Life Celebration later for family and friends in the future.
