Carlos Santiago Sigala Sr., 78, passed away on March 23, 2020 in Moriarty, New Mexico. He was born on September 20, 1941 in Anthony, NM to the late Estanislado and Vitalia (Lopez) Sigala. Carlos was married 58 years to his sweetheart Esabel Sigala. Carlos worked for the Torrance County Road Department for 25 years and was a member of the NM Quarter Horses Association. In his younger years he was involved in baseball and coaching his kids. His passion, however, was his animals from his dogs and cattle but, especially his horses. Carlos also loved playing pool at the Senior Citizen Center. He never met a stranger he didn’t bond with. He loved people and was a kind and generous man that will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Pete Sigala and stepbrother, Esmeal “Smiley” Montano. Carlos is survived by his beloved wife, Esabel Sigala; sons, Adan Sigala and wife Corinne, Carlos Sigala Jr. and girlfriend Christina Cochran and Matthew Sigala and wife Elysette; daughters, Bernadine Gauna and husband Gerald and Juanita Hudson; brother, Tony Sigala and wife Nicole. and sisters, Mary Garcia and husband David and Isabel Plant. Carlos was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His grandkids were his life. Ashley Baillio, Courtney Sigala, Katelyn Glover, Adan Sigala, Jessica Satches, Reina Sigala, Eleana Sigala, Jocelyn Gauna, Samantha Gauna, Tierra Hudson, Dehaven “Tony” Hudson, Alissa Hudson, Ariana Iglesia and Treysen Sigala. A Rosary will be recited at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. Followed by a Funeral Service. Interment will be at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Gerald Gauna, Adan Sigala Jr., Dehaven Hudson, Hayden Wickens, Michael Satches, Gene Hudson and Matt Glover. Treysen Sigala will be an Honorary Pallbearer. Due to the current situation of Covid-19 and the most recent mandate by the Governor, we respectfully ask that you give the family privacy at this time and not attend the Funeral Service for Carlos unless you have been notified by the immediate family. This was and is a very hard time for the Sigala family and this decision was extremely hard to make. A Celebration of Life will happen at a later time and date when all of Carlos's friends and family can come pay their respects and share memories.
