Bonnie Pearlene Lutrick

September 16, 1934 — January 6, 2024

Our Mother, our Momo, our best friend and loudest cheerleader, Bonnie Pearlene Lutrick died on January 6, 2024. She died peacefully, at home, holding the hand of one of her five children. We are heartbroken and we are devastated. We can’t look at each other without bursting into tears. It goes without saying that we will miss her. Yes, we will miss her. This special woman was born on September 16, 1934, in Sudan, TX. to Annie Pearl and Dan Waller. They provided her and her sister, Mary Ann Hisel, with an idyllic childhood. If ever she regaled you with one of her early childhood memories, we hope that you loved listening to her as much as we did. She mourned each of these precious people as she was the last one of them to be called home. Momo attended Ft. Sumner High School in Ft. Sumner, NM. This is the place she would meet the man of her dreams and the love of her life, Robert Edward Lutrick, or Bob as she called him. Yes, she married her high school sweetheart! They tied the knot on August 14th, 1953, in Ft. Sumner, NM. and from the stories she told, it was a grand affair! Their love story continued until her death but was interrupted when he passed away in 2005. The love they had for each other led to one thing and another and before long there were 5 little kids running around; D’rese, Lynn, Johna, Bitty and Bo. She loved us through thick and thin and celebrated every one of our accomplishments. She truly was our biggest cheerleader. She taught us an awful lot. We were recently reminded that the greatest gift she gave us is each other. We cherish that gift as we prepare to say goodbye to her. We are holding tight to each other and the rest of our family; D’rese’s husband, Allen, their daughter Amy, their son Bobby, and his wife Shelley. Her grandkids Hallie, Autumn, Stevi, Dylan, Derek, Nick, Erick. Lynn’s husband Joe, her kids, Miguel and his wife Brittany, Gina and her husband John. Her grandkids, Lucas, Liam and Jay. Johna’s son Shane, and his wife Laura. Her grandkids, Lincoln, Taos, Levyn and Sholeigh. Bitty’s husband Stuart, her son Jake and his wife Crecsendia, her daughter Paige, her grandkids, Maggie, Camden, Dryden and Ella. Bo’s grandkids, Alexis and Isaiah. Momo tried to raise us right and we like to think (for the most part) she did a pretty good job. We know the love she had for the Estancia Valley, and realize we shared her with the many members of this community that think of her as their Momo, too. Please join us in celebrating Momo’s life on Saturday, January 13, 2024. We will gather at the First Baptist Church in Estancia, NM. at 2:00 PM. We ask that if you want to do something to honor her, please send a donation to the one charity that is closest to our hearts and lives.
