Bobby Lee McMath

Bobby Lee McMath – 83, was born on September 4, 1941 in the Ewing area to

Robert and Goldie (Bailey) McMath. He passed from this life on November 6, 2024 at his home in Ewing. Bob was the oldest of 4 children.

 Bob graduated from High School in Estancia and moved to Albuquerque to begin work for the Railroad. At the age of 19 while attending Riverside Baptist Church he believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and began his journey of growing in grace and knowledge of the Bible. He was currently a member of Bible Baptist Church in Estancia.

 It was at this time in his life that he met and married the love of his life Bonnie (Widner). After a time (1966) they moved back to the Ewing area and began farming again and raising their three children, and spent 55 wonderful years together.

 He loved farming and when he could no longer farm, he loved being a part of his grandson Stevie’s farming operation. Always joking that he was really the boss. Grandpa Bob will be greatly missed at next year’s bean harvest, but he would want all of us to press on and get the work done.

He also loved to fish and spent many happy times sharing that passion with his family and special friends. But his greatest talent was teasing people, and he was good at it.

 He was very proud and supportive of all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Goldie McMath, his sister, Bonnie Harris, and his wife of 55 years Bonnie McMath in 2016.

 He is survived by his sons, Brian (Sonia) McMath of Espanola; Scott (Lisa) McMath of Ft. Sumner; his daughter, Sandy (Eugene) Ness of Moriarty; brother, Jimmy (Dena) McMath of Lucy; sister, Carolyn (Stan) of Estancia, 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday November 12, 2024, with viewing at 10:00 am to 10:30 am followed by the funeral at 10:30 am, both at the Bible Baptist Church (The old Sturgis Building) in Estancia, NM, with Grandson Brady Ness officiating. Burial will be at the Estancia Memorial Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be, Andrew McMath, Luke McMath, David McMath, Benjamin McMath, Skylar McMath, Brady Ness, Steven Ness and Kyle Keeney.  In lieu of flowers memorial danation may be made to Missions, at Bible Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1061, Estancia, NM 87016.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM
