Betty Lou Ray

Betty Lou Ray, 91, passed away on August 21, 2019 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on April 21, 1928 in Carrizozo, NM to the late Roley and Dollie Ward. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Estancia. She loved attending family reunions and going to the Elephant Butte Lake House with family. For many years she worked on and perfected many types of crafts. She truly loved everything southwestern and of native design. Betty will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Doil Ray; daughter, Joyce Ray; granddaughter, Dena Lynn Gore; brother, Rolly "Bud" Smith Ward Jr. and adoptive son, Bob Ray. She is survived by her son, Lynn Ray and wife Pamela of Chandler, OK; daughter, Colleen Romero and husband William of Estancia, NM and sister, Katholene Turner of Pahrump, NV. Betty was survived by 4 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
