Benjamin Nicholas Georgelis, 83, passed away on August 29, 2021 in Moriarty, New Mexico. He was born August 23, 1938 in Hamilton Ohio to the late Michael and Virginia (Thompson) Georgelis. Benjamin has lived in NM since 1974. On September 30, 1960 he married the love of his life Edith Sullivan in Ohio. Benjamin loved to tinker with things. He loved to work with wood and was an excellent artist. He worked for Tillery in Moriarty for 40 plus years and was an extremely good car and bus mechanic. Benjamin owned Bus 7 Sporting Goods in Moriarty for 16 years and you could find him there every weekend. He was truly a member of the East Mountain Community and will so deeply be missed by his family and friends. Benjamin is also preceded in death by his brother, Gene Georgelis. He is survived and will forever be remembered by his beloved wife, Edith Georgelis; son, Jeffrey Georgelis; grandchildren, Nick and Scott and great granddaughter, Elizabeth. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. Pastor Jason Boggan will officiate. Burial will follow at the Mountainview Cemetery in Moriarty, NM.
