Barbara “Faye” Solano entered to rest on June 15, 2023. She was extremely intelligent, hilarious, beautiful, stubborn, and independent, but most of all she was caring and strong. Despite her small stature, the impact she had on the people she knew and loved was enormous. Struggles were no stranger to her, but she powered through them all. Her sheer determination to live a better life was inspiring. Being a small-town gal from Raton NM, she saw the world on various vacation cruises and tours throughout the years and created a comfortable life for herself. She retired as an accountant but came out of retirement and started bartending at the Blue Ribbon Bar at 75. Numerous people have said how much she helped them or impacted their lives. She never hesitated to lend a hand to her loved ones in need, always had a joke or story to tell, and loved the casino almost as much as she loved her family. Her strength, compassion and knowledge will live on. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 29th; More details to be announced. Barbara is survived by her siblings Gloria Farina, Guy Solano and wife Josie, children Daniel Ortiz and wife Annamarie, Boyd Vardy and wife Diana, Susan Anders, Kathryn Greeley, Jay Mireles, as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Roman and Amada Solano, and her children Barbie Solano, Paul David Lujan and Rita Rae Lujan. A Celebration of life will be held Saturday July 29, 2023 @ 10:00 am at the Grisham Park in Albuquerque, NM.
