Arthur Ray Chavez

Arthur Ray Chavez, 38, passed away on November 3, 2021 in Moriarty, New Mexico. He was born on December 29, 1982. Arthur was a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and a lifetime resident of New Mexico. He loved to fish and hunt with his brothers. He worked for the family business, Father and Sons Firewood for many years. Arthur was a jack of all trades and loved odd jobs with landscaping and laying tile. Music was his passion and Arthur was such a kind hearted soul. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Arthur is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cayetano and Celeste Chavez and uncle, Walter Wilcox. He is survived and will forever be remembered by his father, Ray Quintero; mother, Verna Chavez; stepfather, Bruce “Bill” Jones; brothers, Johnny R. Martinez and wife Josie P., Raymond J. Martinez, George D. Martinez and wife Yvette and Bobby J. Martinez; half brother, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 19 , 2021 at Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, New Mexico. The Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. and the Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Pallbearers will be Johnny Martinez, Raymond Martinez, George Martinez, Bobby Martinez, Bill Jones and Steven Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Martinez Jr, Virginia Lucero, Betina Martinez, Hope Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Ashley Cuevas, Aaron Chavez and Anthony Chavez. Burial will follow the services at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, New Mexico.
